Filming the Soho Rugs project for Soho Home London was an extraordinary journey into the heart of traditional rug making. Commissioned by By the Gram, a Mumbai-based production house, the project provided an in-depth look at the intricate craftsmanship behind Soho Home’s rugs. We began with a recce of the local village in Jaipur, integrating the vibrant community and traditional practices into our film. The process was meticulously documented, capturing every step from designing and weaving to washing and trimming. The film focused on the manual skills and detailed craftsmanship that define Soho Home’s rugs, showcasing the artisans' dedication and expertise. By emphasizing the handcrafted nature of the rugs, the film highlights the artisanal techniques used in production. It tells the story of how Soho Home’s carpets are created, celebrating the blend of cultural heritage and contemporary design. The result is a vivid portrayal of the artistry and tradition behind these exquisite rugs, illustrating the care and precision that bring each piece to life.
